Mother’s Day Kindle Countdown Deal + a Mother’s Day Wish for all Who Celebrate

Winter has waned, and spring has ushered in baby birds, sprouting flowers accompanied by pollen here in Georgia but we take the bitter with the sweet. More importantly, we will be honoring and celebrating our first love. Our dear mothers.  What could be better than sharing a cup or glass of tea with your loved one with a taste of a spring sweetness you created?

Fresh plump blueberries bursting with freshness and flavor, is the foundation for our blueberry delight.  So easy and quick to prepare a child could help. A nice alternative later in summer is to include slices of ripe fresh peaches with the blueberries. It’s an epicurean delight.

If cherries tickle your fancy, Sister Bates Dump Cake is the recipe for you. Both recipes can be enhanced in“à la mode”. It is said that restaurant owner John Gieriet in Minnesota in the 1800s Gieriet supposedly used the phrase “à la mode” in the 1880s to describe a dessert of blueberry pie and ice cream.

These recipes and many more are in my food memoir, A Sampling of Life, One Taste at a Time, available for more than half off during my Kindle Count Down Deal.
